Purchasing of Catalytic Converters

We offer the best and most favorable conditions for purchasing ceramic, metallic catalytic converters and DPF filters.

The value of a catalytic converter is determined by several important factors:

1. Mass: The amount of material in the catalytic converter.
2. Precious metal content: Platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), and rhodium (Rh) – the quantity of these metals in the catalytic converter significantly affects the price.
3. Precious metal market price: Prices fluctuate based on the global market.

CATALYTIC CONVERTER XRF ANALYSIS

To find out exactly how much your catalytic converter is worth, we use XRF analysis.

1. Bring your catalytic converter to your nearest location.
   • In Valmiera: We carry out the analysis on the spot, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Saturdays, we accept catalytic converters and complete the necessary paperwork, but the analysis is done on the next working day.
   • At our other locations: We’ll accept your catalytic converter, complete the paperwork and send it to Valmiera. The analysis is free of charge and completed within 7 days.
2. We prepare your catalytic converter for testing. We remove the material from its metal casing and prepare a sample by drilling into it or grinding the material into powder.
3. We carry out the XRF analysis. We check which precious metals are inside your catalytic converter and how much of each it contains.
4. We calculate its value. Based on the analysis results and current precious metal market prices, we work out how much your catalytic converter is worth.
5. We let you know our offer. We’ll tell you the price we can pay for your catalytic converter.
6. You get paid. If you’re happy with our offer, we’ll pay you on the same day.
   • Not happy with the price? No problem! We’ll return your catalytic converter immediately in Valmiera or within 7 days if you dropped it off at another location.
